Plantype, from İstanbul, is an independent type foundry that focuses on creating versatile typefaces. It is founded by type designer Emin İmamoğlu in 2022. It all started by trying popular fonts on a branding project and not finding a perfect one that satisfies all expectations. After weeks of research, we decided to create a custom typeface with every benchmark we had in mind. Thus, roots of the first typeface of Plantype were born.

Every Plantype typeface has a clear esthetic plan at the beginning. All the design decisions have been made considering this main plan.
